About Travelodge Cambridge Central

Travelodge Cambridge Central offers simple, clean rooms with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and the option of accessible rooms, spread across five floors served by a lift. Some guests have found the ventilation lacking and beds on the firm side, but rooms are consistently reported as comfortable and well kept, and represent solid value for the price.

The hotel has its own restaurant and bar, with breakfast available for those who want to start the day without leaving the building. Pets are welcome, which makes it a practical choice for those travelling with animals. Parking is not included on site but is available nearby, chargeable, at Cambridge Leisure Centre just two minutes' walk away.

Location is the main draw: the hotel sits within Cambridge Leisure Park, surrounded by restaurants, a pizza eatery, a pub and entertainment venues, and it's only a short walk into the city centre and to the university buildings beyond. Staff are consistently described as friendly and professional, adding to the straightforward, no-fuss appeal of a stay here.

One of the revamped Travelodges, so I found it acceptable, unlike some others. Room was a twin room, I must have booked that - bed fine, clean bathroom. Second floor room overlooking the square of food restaurants. Walked into Cambridge centre for a meal and a beer, I was staying alone for work - nice walk of about 20 minutes. The only issue I had was that the 30 minutes free wifi did not work - it usually is fine in the Travelodges for me. Furthermore my personal phone on EE 5G was struggling all night and nothing would load. My work phone on Three was only getting 4G and that was similar. So I was without much connection all night, only SMS would go through. Not sure if this is a blip or a feature of the area - not expected in a city centre these days. If parking in the multi storey behind Cambridge Junction gig venue then make sure you get the QR code to reduce your overnight parking to £7, otherwise it's £24-25. I'll use this one again if I need to, just hoping that the connectivity issues are fixed, and I appreciate the phone network isn't Travelodges fault!

This hotel met our expectations for a one-night stay, with comfortable twin beds that can easily be pulled apart! Storage space on the table is strong and there are compartments to place smaller belongings by the beds, chair can also be used to rest when needed during the day. Bathroom was kept clean and shower had a proper level of reliability, staff checked us in promptly and gave a replacement with no hassle when one of our key cards was not scanning!

I booked this place last minute after being discharged from hospital and missing my flight. I wasn't expecting luxury. Just a place to recover for the night and rest before my flight the next day. It was awful. The bathroom smelt like strong Urine. The shower was broken so the water went everywhere but my body! The toilet had stains. The place had not been cleaned or if it had they need new cleaners! The kettle was also dirty so making a drink was out of the question. The bed was for a child and I am teeny. It was just uncomfortable all round. No sound proofing at all, so you can hear everything! If I wasn't so exhausted I would have gone to reception to be asked to move but was too weak. Paying over 100 pounds for this was Diabolical ..

I’ve stayed at this travelodge hotel plenty of times and I have always had a positive experience. From checking in early, good WiFi, and decent sized rooms. The manager and staff are all nice and pleasant. I like the location too. Not far from the train station and right next to some good food places. Strongly recommend this for a night or 2
