About The Duke William

The Duke William has just four rooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom, so guests get a quiet, personal stay rather than a big hotel feel. Breakfast is included, drinks can be brought up to the room, and free WiFi covers the whole place, with free on-site parking taking the hassle out of arriving by car.

Downstairs, the pub itself does much of the talking. There's a restaurant and bar serving freshly made food, including a well-regarded Sunday roast, alongside a good range of beers and ciders, and kids' meals are available too. An open fire keeps things cosy in the bar, staff are attentive, and prices are kept reasonable. Outside, a spacious garden with countryside views has a children's play area, picnic tables and outdoor seating, making it a popular spot to sit on for a while. Pets are welcome throughout, though this is an adults-only accommodation for overnight stays.

Set on The Street in Canterbury, it's well placed for walking and cycling routes nearby, with golf and fishing also within reach, plus further pubs and restaurants close by for exploring further afield.

Our weekend at the Duke William was wonderful. The staff were amazing and made our stay a real stand out from other weekends away. A big thank you to Jenny, Hugh and Emma! The room was very comfortable and the pantry for extras was a really nice touch. The little treats in the room were perfect. We had all of our food here during our stay and no complaints at all (we have quite high standards) Breakfast was incredible and the cheesy scrambled eggs were to die for. Sausage and bacon were also pretty impressive. We had steak for dinner and it was cooked perfectly. A massive thank you to the unseen kitchen crew. A highlight for us, was enjoying a drink on the comfy sofa in front of the fire and watching the world go by in the afternoon.

Beautiful village in the Little Stour Catchment area From the Pan Fried Tiger Prawns, Scotch Eggs, the beautifully cooked Hake and Stout Braised Short Rib. The food was amazing. Friendly Service, and good selection of ales. Bottom Line Prefect food and pub.

This is a lovely pub in a beautiful little village. The food is excellent and there is a good range of beers, wines and spirits. There is a large garden at the back with some covered seating and tables with parasols. There are also nice views over open fields.
