Deerson Barn
Dover
Deerson Barn is a converted agricultural building set down a quiet country lane near Dover, with far-reaching views across the surrounding fields and woodland. The transformation from working farm building to holiday home has created a substantial space across one floor, with a galleried sitting room overlooking the open-plan kitchen and dining area. Three bedrooms sleep six: a king bed with ensuite shower, a second king bed, and a twin room. There's also a family bathroom with a bath and shower, plus a second living area with flexible sleeping space on futons.
The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—gas oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and slow cooker are all there. A woodburner in the main living room, heating throughout, electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are all included. The garden is enclosed and laid to lawn with a terrace and furniture; the hot tub section of the swim spa is available 8am to 9pm. Eight cars can park on site.
This location suits families and couples wanting genuine quiet. Woodland walks nearby lead to the village of Preston, which has a shop, butcher and restaurant, or in the other direction to Wickhambreaux with its country pub. Ancient woodland, streams and open country define the setting. The access is via a rough track. No smoking is permitted.
