Lovely place! Gorgeous building, the room was cosy and clean. Bathroom was up to date, water pressure was perfect. Really happy to see a Smart TV in the room as well. Breakfast in the morning was lovely and the staff were just soo nice. I arrived very late due to making a long journey and the lady who greeted me was really quite patient considering the time. Stunning scenery as well. Aye, 10/10 would stay again.

Absolutely fantastic experience at the Fox and Pheasant in Armathwaite. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. It’s one of those rare places where both people and dogs are made to feel completely at home, which made our visit even more enjoyable. The staff were attentive and kind, creating a relaxed and inviting environment throughout. Everything about the place felt thoughtfully done, and it really stood out as somewhere special to spend time. Whether you’re stopping by for a drink or a longer visit, it’s clear they care about making guests feel comfortable. A true 5-star gem — we’ll definitely be back!

One of the nicest hotels I have stayed in, the room (5) was very nicely decorated, clean and well lit, the bed was massive and comfortable, shower and amenities were excellent. We had food in the lounge bar, I had the meat feast artisan pizza, my wife had curry, both massive portions and very tasty. We sat outside after dinner and got the feeling the local community used the inn as a spot to meet and enjoy a drink on a nice evening, everyone seemed to know eachother and were friendly, the local area is quiet and stunning, there looks to be some nice walks and a local forest close by with some mountain bike trails in too. Breakfast was amazing too, absolutely massive English breakfast! I tapped out about half way through mine. My only gripe was the heat, it was a very warm evening outside with no wind so a small fan would have been very helpful for a more comfortable night

Our walking group had a great lunch here today. The weather was abysmal but there was a warm fire and friendly service. The Menu provided generous portions of some pub favourites and all were happy.
