About Glanrhyd Farm Camping
Tucked away on a 35-acre smallholding 275 metres above sea level, Glanrhyd Farm Camping offers a proper rural escape in the Carmarthenshire countryside. This is a place where the pace slows right down – kids can build dens, explore the kilometre-long nature trail along the stream, or watch sparrows, woodpeckers and chaffinches at the bird-feeding area. Keep an eye out for buzzards, red kites and owls overhead.
Your hosts sometimes run nature hunts and willow weaving sessions, and there's even a mini observatory for stargazing. Campfires are welcome, adding to the back-to-basics appeal, though as a pop-up site the facilities are simple: compost toilets, a shower and a washing-up area.
It's a 25-minute drive from Carmarthen, making this a genuinely quiet spot where sheep graze and vegetables grow – the kind of smallholding experience where doing very little feels like plenty.

A beautiful position and lovely people

Janette has literally thought of everything you could need to have the most comfortable stay from hot water bottles and thermal flasks to a board/card games chest, scavenger hunts and hot chocolate and marshmallows! The kitchen even has potted lettuce and mint growing fresh for you to add to your cooking. Everything has been hand built by the owners, even down to having a go at their own blacksmithing, and finished to such a high standard. The communal shower block is clean and the water runs hot. The owners are ever so friendly and happy to offer any assistance, my girls got to feed the chickens and the sheep which they loved. Each yurt has its own kitchen/dining area, firepit area and toilet so no wondering in the dark to find one or sharing. Peaceful site with beautiful country views, Jupiter and Venus shining brightly visible on a clear night. The site is pretty central in terms of travel between Brecon beacon, Gower peninsula, Pembrokeshire coast, an hour or so each way out, so over a 2 night stay managed to visit all these areas. 5/5 star⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would definitely recommend!
