The Preseli Hills and National Botanic Gardens are within reach, and Carmarthen itself—20 minutes away—has the shops and restaurants you'd expect of a market town. Laugharne, where Dylan Thomas lived, sits nearby with its boat house and castle; Kidwelly and Dynevor castles are also close enough for a day out. The surrounding countryside rewards walking, and a stream runs through the grounds.

Talog Country Retreat - Moonlight is a converted barn set on 30 acres. Three bedrooms sleep six: a kingsize on the ground floor, two super-kingsize doubles upstairs. The ground floor holds an open-plan living and dining space with a well-equipped kitchen; the first floor adds a family bathroom alongside the bedrooms. A shower room serves the ground-floor bedroom. Essentials like electricity, heating, bed linen and wi-fi are covered. The rear garden includes a decked area with a private hot tub for six, and the grounds offer woodland to wander through.

One pet is welcome. The property is non-smoking and accessed by private parking for three cars.

10/10 place! Second visit for us within a year. Amazing hosts, beautiful homes. Every window has a gorgeous view. Facilities were fantastic.

We had a lovely few days over Easter bank holiday 2025 at Starlight cottage. Directions to get there were simple; we did go through some long windy roads to get there, but we didn’t realise there was an easier road (which the hosts told us about, we just hadn’t checked!), so once we used those roads, it was much easier. The place itself was surround by beautiful greenery and was very clean! Kitchen was kitted up with all cutlery/utensils/pots and pans, so it was very helpful as we had 3 little ones with us. The place is very child friendly, and bedrooms were good sizes. The hottub was a really good size, and very easy to use, water stayed clear as long as we followed the instructions. Would definitely recommend for families and groups of friends/couples. We would 100% come back here to stay! Thank you to Yovanah for being available for any questions and replying straight away. It really enhanced our stay and overall experience! The sunrise views from the cottage was actually incredible - see photo! So beautiful.

Brilliant cottage in a peaceful location. The rooms were all a great size and the cottage had all amenities we could ask for as well as being very clean and tidy. The hosts were brilliant throughout our stay and couldn’t have been more welcoming to our family.

Stunning and clean cottage in a beautiful location which is nice and out of the way. Perfect for non city people or if you just need an escape from everything. It was bliss to look at the stars from the hot tub without any light pollution or cables ruining it. There’s a lovely little walk right on the doorstep too. I only met one of the hosts but he was more than helpful and very welcoming. You’re left to your own devices but they’re always on hand if need be. Would definitely recommend :)
