This detached house dates back several generations and retains the generous proportions of a property built to accommodate large family gatherings. The main rooms occupy the ground floor: a living room with a projector screen, a separate dining space, and a kitchen fitted for serious cooking with a gas cooker, range, dishwasher and two washing machines plus tumble dryers in the utility room. The first floor holds five further bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. One bedroom is on the ground floor with a shower room nearby. Across the six bedrooms, you have a four-poster super kingsize, two four-poster kingsize beds, and the remaining spaces in single configurations. All bedrooms have televisions. Bed linen, towels and wifi are included in your stay.

The grounds stretch to three acres and include woodland, a large terrace, garden furniture and a built-in barbecue. A river runs alongside the property and fishing is available on-site. There is private parking for ten cars and a bike store. The house suits groups of up to 14 people, whether for a family reunion, a gathering of friends, or a celebration. One pet is welcome. The nearest pub is within a mile; Amman Valley Hospital is nearby. Smoking is not permitted. Note that the garden contains both a fenced pond and an unfenced river.

Recently returned from celebrating my 40th with a group of friends and family at Vijay Gardens. Booking and check in was made simple with Mr and Mrs Vijay contacting us with clear instructions. Before going I read some reviews regarding the house being dated, but the house photos show very clearly what the property is like and are not deceptive in any way, so I'm not sure why others were surprised that the house was not modern. Most importantly the house was clean and well presented. If you want to spend your holiday inspecting an old house for signs of wear then I'm sure you will find them. The big draw for us when booking was the outside space. Unfortunately the weather was not on our side so we were not able to enjoy this aspect in full, which made the fact that the inside space was so much larger than expected a big bonus. We comfortably slept and catered for 14. We used the very large cinema room to hold our celebration with plenty of room for dancing. The kitchen and dining room were well stocked and we had a surplus of supplies. Beds were comfortable and most rooms have an ensuite. The booking clearly specified that there was a security deposit and fuel charge to be paid so this was not a surprise when it was asked for, and our deposit was returned the day after we left.

Overall the holiday was lovely, however the house is very dated, needs a bit of tlc. There is no access to the balcony, despite this being used in advertising, and was only told there was no access once we arrived, citing health and safety issues. There was lots of out door security cameras, which we werent informed about before hand, as we would of had small children running round without many clothes on we didn't feel comfortable about this. We had a maintenance man arrive whilst we were out cutting grass without any prior knowledge and also just turn up to check something inside the house again no prior warning, and himself and a woman began walking back and forth through the garden collecting things from the rear maintenance building without a care in the world or the decency to ask if this was OK. Space wise it was great for all the kids. Kitchen utensils were dirty, but there was plenty of them. Beds were comfortable. Far too much signage everywhere about rules, and talk of extra charges. We didn't take our dogs but again so many rules about them I wouldnt say it is dog friendly at all. Lovely holiday with the family, just let down by the lack of care taken with the property.

Positives: Thers is ample space! Huge rooms. The river in the garden is gorgeous and there is PLENTY of kitchen ware! Negatives: Where to start?! The demand for more money 24 hr before arriving, leaving us in a position of paying it or cancelling the long awaited group holiday started the holiday with a negative vibe- but we did shake it off and pay it. The house is huge but VERY dated- ripped net curtains noted when pulled up on drive. Huge garden but needs TLC with broken things all over and over grown patches- must have been magnificent back in the day! The kitchen is an organised persons idea of hell- there are about 200 saucepans (ok exaggeration) with 150 mis- matched lids! We counted 15 pairs of burnt/ broken and frayed old oven gloves. There are about 4 drawers of utensils and another few cupboards of random kitchen paraphernalia! I actually spent time organising some drawers as I couldn’t cope with not finding a spoon. The bedrooms were big and our bed was comfy but my daughter’s metal bed was broken and falling down. The window sill figure was stuck on with super glue (see pic) The toilet seats don’t match the toilets, the showers are clogged with hair and things are generally fit for the skip. You can tell the owners have given up caring and are just after money- they have the house up for sale but this house needs ALOT spent on it to make it a welcoming home again. There are 28 dining chairs in the dining room- which I thought was a tad excessive (along with the 1000s of dinner plates and glasses) until we found out from the locals that it is used as a swingers paradise once a month- which probably explains the strange layout of the living room with a lot of PVC/ leather sofas all around the edges! It would be such a beautiful house if it had the money to renovate it and bring it up to former glory but it is currently being used as a quick buck- they do not give any deposit back as ‘forge’ fake photos and claim things have been broken - we cleaned the house so it was cleaner than when we arrived!! It is a shame as Bobby must have spent a lot of time, money and effort building this house and it is sad to see it in such a state of disrepair.

I went here with my family. There was 14 of us in total. It fit us all in perfectly and there was plenty of space for us and our dogs. However, the cleanliness of the house was NOT up to good standard. There was hair and dirt under some of the shower drains that hadn’t been cleaned in some time. There was also dust and hair found in rooms, there was also a broken bed that was broken when we arrived and the owner is now refusing our deposit of 100 that we weren’t informed of until a couple of days before our stay as well as a 100 fuel charge. Other reviews state that it has been very difficult to receive back deposits or haven’t been received at all. This shouldn’t be called a deposit if it’s a massive struggle to get it back.. But on a positive note it was in a nice place near shops and petrol station as well as pubs and was very peaceful. Place needs a good clean and updating as very old fashioned.
