I was introduced to Essex Pottery Studio by a friend of mine and I am sooooo glad she did. It is such a welcoming place and they have so much knowledge. This visit I wanted to try something new and I got great advice and all my incessant questions were met with kindness and great tips. You are never rushed and it is such a calm and happy place. If you are there for the pottery painting (which is how I was introduced) there are soooooo many items to choose from. Making a selection can be hard as there is so much choice. But what a fab problem to have. Plus it is very affordable, small items like small decorations from £5 and then some very intricate and large items. Plus lots of practical items, should you want to enjoy the painting, but be able to use the items after (vases, plates, butter dishes, milk jigsaw to name a few). And pottery painting isn't all they do, you can get on the wheel to throw something and they now have glass fusing workshops (which I am really looking forward to). It is well worth following them on social media, to get a heads up on what is coming up. Plus to get inspiration for your next visit. Already excited for my next visit and also to see how my bowl turns out in the kiln (will update with more pics for the review when I pick the bowl up).

We and the kids had a wonderful relaxing afternoon today at the Essex Pottery Studio. The kids (and us!) Loved painting their own 'masterpieces' and it's such a warm and friendly place 💕. Simply pop along (we booked quite last minute over the phone), choose your pottery, take a seat (everything you need is provided) and paint away at your leisure. The hours fly by. The team are lovely. Refreshments and treats available (even some freebies for the children!). Plentiful parking. Very reasonable prices. Highly recommended.
