What visitors say

Andrew Campbell

Stormont Estate is one of the best public green spaces in Northern Ireland and a fantastic place to visit in any season. Home to the Northern Ireland Assembly buildings, the estate is free to access and offers a huge amount to explore. In recent years there has been significant investment across the grounds, opening up new walking trails and adding plenty of interesting features along the way. There are wide open green spaces, picnic areas, play parks and a variety of historical, man-made and natural points of interest scattered throughout the estate. Children can collect an activity sheet and try to spot the different items around the park, including the many wooden carvings hidden along the trails — a fun way to keep younger visitors engaged. One of the highlights is the excellent Mo Mowlam Play Park and café, along with the peaceful boardwalk that winds through a beautiful wetland nature reserve. There’s also a dedicated dog exercise area, making it a great place for dog walkers. Whether you're looking for a scenic walk, somewhere for the kids to play, or just a relaxing place to enjoy nature, Stormont Estate is well worth a visit. The landscape changes beautifully throughout the year, making every visit a little different. ⭐ Tip: Walk up the Prince of Wales Avenue towards Parliament Buildings for one of the most iconic views in Northern Ireland.

Visited 26/12/2025, very limited parking at different entrances. Four stars k stead of five as maps to get around the estate only found near top left entrance and not front entrance and estate is not well signposted if not been before and not sure which paths are easier to navigate, especially with children etc. What was found was interesting and worth a visit and walk around. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
