About Marine Hotel Ballycastle
The Marine sits on the seafront at Ballycastle, looking straight out over the beach towards Fair Head and Rathlin Island. It is the largest hotel at this end of the Causeway Coast, with 51 rooms and suites including sea-view and family options, and a number of dog-friendly rooms, which is less common here than you might expect.
Marconi's Bar and Bistro takes its name from the Marconi experiments conducted between Ballycastle and Rathlin, and serves a la carte dinner, afternoon tea and a Sunday carvery, open seven days from midday. The hotel also runs substantial event and wedding facilities, which means it can be busy at weekends but also keeps standards and staffing higher than a hotel of this size would otherwise sustain.
Ballycastle itself is a working town rather than a resort, and it makes an excellent and comparatively affordable base. The Rathlin Island ferry leaves from the harbour a few minutes' walk away, Carrick-a-Rede and Ballintoy are fifteen minutes west along the coast road, and the Glens of Antrim and the Torr Head scenic route open up to the south and east. The Ould Lammas Fair takes over the town at the end of August, when rooms here go months in advance.

We had the most wonderful stay here! We brought our dog with us and stayed for one night and had the best, most relaxing time. Rooms were spotless, modern and beds are extremely comfortable. All the staff were extremely lovely and helpful. The dog bowls and treats are such a lovely touch to the rooms as well. The dog menu for when you’re dining is amazing too!! Sitting outside the front of the hotel after getting engaged enjoying a few drinks the entire evening was the best feeling and having our dog with us made it ten times better. It was quite warm that night so we had the windows open in the room and falling asleep listening to the waves crashing was the best!! We can’t wait to make this an annual visit now (plus our dog!!) ❤️

I’ve just stayed a week with family and it was superb. Rooms very clean and lovely. Food selection was great especially breakfast. Dinners were good too especially the Chowder. yum. Easy access to buses where you can travel all along the causeway coast. The town is vibrant and full of Music. The young staff were excellent, nothing was a problem. I loved the fact there were so many of them all working so hard. One young man was very good to us , his name is Shay, he was attentive and caring. All the staff busy all the time. Great service from all.

Nice hotel. All the corridors badly need painted and recarpeted though. It's a dog friendly hotel which I don't like because I'm allergic and nervous around dogs but I know I'm in the minority. Staff are lovely. Food was great.

On holiday with Andrew’s of Tideswell, stayed here for two nights as part of holiday. This hotel is fantastic, it’s right on the coast which means we had a great view from our room, the service throughout the hotel is really good. Both evenings we had delicious food and Deep made sure everyone was happy with their food. Deep also sorted a couple of issues we had (our fault). Would definitely stay here again 😊
