This genuinely special glamping spot centres on a real-life yellow submarine, complete with buttons to press, dials to check, working portholes and a periscope for budding underwater adventurers. Naturally, there's a giant octopus detector and shark warning system to keep tabs on what's happening outside.

In reality, outside means a glorious Somerset campsite with a cool free-range vibe. The on-site food shack serves breakfast rolls, loaded fries, paninis, milkshakes and proper coffee, while a kids' activity field bristles with things to clamber over – tractor tyres, sleepers, an old Land Rover. 'Kev the ice man' sells local sweet treats through summer, and stone-baked pizzas appear on Friday evenings in high season. The submarine itself has a hob, fridge and everything needed for self-catering, plus a barbecue and firepit outside.

Just over a mile from Cheddar's centre, you're close to excellent takeaways, pubs and farm shops for stocking up. The Gorge, Gough's Cave and a raft of outdoor activities lie on the doorstep.
