We’ve just got back after a two night stay and we all had such a good time. We loved our stay here and instantly as soon as we arrived, we were made to feel welcome by Angie on reception, who was so kind and looked after us all weekend. Amy who was the other receptionist was excellent as well and again, just so friendly. Upon arrival, we received a voucher as it was my wife’s birthday which was a really nice touch and was a great way to kick off the weekend. The bar area is cosy and has a good variety of drinks! The room was lovely, clean and spacious which is ideal when you have a little one. The breakfast was really good, with the meat coming from a butchers nearby and eggs from a farm. The lady Anna, who served us breakfast each morning was also lovely and so cheery. She made such an effort with our son, who really loved her which was really nice and her service was fantastic. Great location with a stones throw away from the water and given how good the location is, there was a lot of parking and even when full there is some on street parking just round the corner. A great hotel, great staff and we hope to return soon.

I stayed at the Chester House Hotel for two nights during my time in The Cotswolds. This hotel exceeded my expectations! It was quaint, charming, and the staff were all so lovely. Hot breakfast each morning was delicious. The rooms were up to date and very clean. The water pressure in the shower was also amazing. This was prime location in Bourton on the Water. I would 100% stay here again if I come back to this area, which I hope I will one day. It was so idyllic, like I was living in a fairytale for 2 days!

Our experience at Chester House Hotel was extremely disappointing and did not reflect the hospitality we expected while visiting the beautiful Cotswolds. The most concerning issue occurred in the parking lot. Another guest threatened to hit our car because she had trouble getting out. After she left, we discovered that our vehicle had, in fact, been struck. We also noticed that her vehicle had fresh scratches in the exact location that aligned with the damage to our car. When we shared our concerns with the front desk, Chrissy insisted the other guest had not hit our car. When we pointed out the matching damage, she raised her voice and said, “Are you calling me a liar?” Rather than helping us navigate the situation, we felt dismissed and treated as though we were the problem. Later, I went to the dining room to grab a bottled water from the refrigerator, as we had previously been told we could do. While my back was turned, a supervisor abruptly shouted that I was not allowed in that cooler because it was for staff only and that I needed to get water elsewhere. The interaction was unnecessarily harsh and left me visibly shaken. When I mentioned this experience to Chrissy, she responded, “Oh, she’s Polish—that’s just how she communicates.” I found this explanation both inappropriate and dismissive. A person’s nationality should not be used to excuse rude or unprofessional behavior. Hoping to resolve the situation, I spoke with the owner. Unfortunately, rather than listening to our concerns, she repeatedly referenced the hotel’s positive reviews and minimized our experience. Besides allowing us to view the video footage, we never felt that our concerns were taken seriously or that anyone genuinely cared about making things right. We traveled a long way to experience the warmth, charm, and hospitality the Cotswolds is known for. Sadly, our stay at Chester House Hotel was the complete opposite. We travel frequently and understand that mistakes happen, but what defines a great hotel is how it responds. In our experience, Chester House Hotel fell well short of the level of customer service and hospitality we expected. Additionally, on the first floor you will be kept up all night from the guests in the room above you. Again, when I mentioned that to Chrissy she was surprised and stated no one had mentioned this before - I find this hard to believe and once again invalidated. EDIT to your response: - Chrissy stated she started 2 weeks ago, lie #1 - Your supervisor was not “polite.” Not sure how you can state this as you were not there - You can hear on the cameras Chrissy’s accusing us of calling her a liar - “we are confident that our team acted professionally throughout” - wrong again - It is no surprise you would excuse their behavior even after having not witnessed any of it, this is likely why they know they can treat guests so rudely

The Chester House Hotel was a gorgeous short stay in the area, perfectly located in the middle of everything. Quiet and very clean. The service was exceptional and they went above and beyond to help us out. We visited as we were going to the Hawkstone brewery tour and was a short 15/20 min walk away. Highly recommend
