About Leonardo Hotel Cheltenham
Leonardo Hotel Cheltenham is a sizeable, low-rise property spread across three floors, holding 122 rooms on Gloucester Road within reach of Montpellier Gardens and the town's Regency streets. Some parts of the building show their age, but the scale of the place means it comfortably handles families, business travellers and wedding parties alike, with meeting rooms and a dedicated wedding venue on site.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and free WiFi, and family rooms and accessible rooms are available for those who need them. Breakfast is generous, with a wide choice of items, and there's a restaurant, bar and snack bar for other meals, plus room service, packed lunches and drinks brought to your room if you'd rather not leave it. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, which goes some way to making up for the more dated corners of the building.
Beyond the rooms, guests have access to an indoor swimming pool, gym, sauna and hot tub, along with a garden, picnic area and outdoor seating for warmer days. On-site parking is available, though it's chargeable, and an electric vehicle charge point is fitted for those who need it. The location puts Cheltenham's pubs, restaurants and entertainment within walking distance, with a golf course nearby and the Cotswolds countryside beyond for anyone keen to explore further.

No Aircon in their suite. Windows that barely open so on a hot day, expect to be baked (we did). Staff are friendly, hotel is nice. Electric charging available. £7 to park on site. Breakfast is very basic however their bakery was nice and fresh. We have to ask them to switch the light on in the lobby as it got really dark. Overall the experience would been good if the rooms are cooler.

Getting very dated now. A warm week, no air conditioning in the room made for a very uncomfortable week. Despite asking to be moved & being a rewards member (free room upgrade) I was told there was no rooms available, the hotel was by no means full! I had to email reception, due to work commitments I was unable to telephone but never received a respose. There are a number of chargers available for EVs but I found constantly non EVs parked in the bays by health club visitors so I was unable to charge my vehicle. The good points, room the serviced everyday, inside was always clean, staff were polite.

Decent stay with friendly staff. We stayed here using a Moonpig voucher—which I honestly wouldn't recommend as they are very difficult to redeem. The Leonardo isn't a hotel I would normally choose in this area, but it turned out to be a nice stay overall. The Good: The staff were extremely friendly and helpful throughout. The room was clean and fine, and the beds were comfortable, a really nice touch was having both firm and soft pillows to choose from. Breakfast was good, and the pool was decent for a dip (1.1m deep). The steam room was also a great bonus! The Downsides: The room was quite dated and had no air conditioning. Even with the fans and cooler provided by the hotel (which we appreciated), the temperature was still very hot and borderline unbearable. Also, having the sauna located inside the changing rooms meant we couldn't use it together as a couple, which was a bit odd. A solid stay with great staff, but the room temperature and voucher hassle (not Leonardo hotels fault) were definite drawbacks.

Absolutely love this hotel. I remember it from when it was the Golden Valley Thistle Hotel back in the 1990s. So for me staying here for 3 nights was a really special trip back down memory lane. The staff are lovely and very friendly. The breakfast was good. The grounds are very green and spacious. Even though you are just off the A40 you do feel you're in the countryside. There is a very convenient bus stop just a few mins walk away for a 15-min bus ride to town. My room on the ground floor was air-conditioned and very cool. The hotel also had 2 welcoming water coolers in the reception for complimentary iced water. Highly recommended.
