Certificated camping site near Chester with shower facilities.
About The Durham Heifer Certificated Site
Nantwich sits on the southern edge of Chester, a medieval walled city with centuries of history packed into its centre. The Durham Heifer Certificated Site is a small campsite just outside town, offering a base within easy reach of Chester's shops, restaurants and riverside walks without the premium of staying closer in.
The site has shower facilities for guests. As a certificated site, it operates under Camping and Caravanning Club rules, which means it takes a limited number of pitches and typically attracts a quieter clientele than larger parks.

What visitors say
Picked this for proximity to Bolesworth Castle for a car show event. Fabulous little site, running only a few well maintained pitches. Warm welcome from hosts Rebecca & Chris. Nothing too much trouble. Cafe temporarily closed but we live in hope that it can reopen - lovely setting! Peaceful stay even though close to a main road (traffic probably heavier than usual due to the car show nearby … so don’t let that put you off 👍🏻). Could still hear the birdsong at our pitch though. And lots of good shelter from established trees etc. Thanks so much and see you again. Campbell & family

Well what can I say about this place, I've actually forgotten how many times we have stayed here now! We love the place.....Rebecca, Chris and of course Odin are the most welcoming and accommodating hosts you could ask for. All the pitches are very spacious (our caravan is 8mtrs long and we have a full awning plus annexe) with 5 hard standing for your camper/caravan and several grass pitches too, EHU available and also the pitches are pretty level too. A couple of toilets and a shower are kept to a high level of cleanliness and loo roll, hand soap and paper towels kept topped up etc. Elsan point for getting rid of your nasties, you must use green fluid to be used in your loo please! There is a big field for the kids to play on, plenty of nature around and the site is a perfect base for walkers/cyclists as the Sandstone Trail is right on your doorstep! We absolutely love this place and have no doubt we will be back again, thanks again Rebecca and Co for a lovely stay 😊

Stayed in the campground for one night. Was greeted by the most lovely host, Rebecca - who was quite possibly the nicest camp host I’ve met in my travels. Facilities (toilets/shower) were a bit dated, but clean. Beautiful grassy pitches with a few hard-standing. A little bit of road noise, but not terrible. Cafe wasn’t open, but Rebecca says it will be soon 🩷 Will definitely stay again!

This was our first time camping, and we’re so glad we chose The Durham Heifer. Despite running two hours late, we were welcomed with genuine warmth—nothing was too much trouble. From our first enquiry to the moment we left, Rebecca was incredibly helpful, friendly, and clearly cares deeply about her guests. The site itself is set in beautiful surroundings with plenty of space to pitch. We had electric hook-up, and our 15m cable had plenty of length to spare. The showers were hot, the toilets were clean, and there was easy access to drinking water—everything we needed for a great stay! We absolutely loved the site and, selfishly, hope Rebecca and Steve stay on so we can visit again—but whatever the future holds, we wish them all the very best. Sam & Claire -
