Stretching across 1,000 acres between Waltham Abbey and Broxbourne, this park is a stunning mosaic of flooded gravel pits, serene lakes, and vibrant marshes. It’s a paradise for anyone who loves the outdoors, offering everything from peaceful riverside walks to unique art trails. One of my favorite parts of the visit was exploring the Artway Trail, where I discovered incredible wooden sculptures like 'The Shrine' and 'The Giant’s Chair'. The wildlife here is equally impressive; the park is home to the Wildlife Discovery Centre, where you can spot rare birds like the Bittern or catch a glimpse of a Kingfisher darting across the water. These pretty pictures taken were right at the start of the walk. It was a very hot day with hardly any shade. One can walk around the lake which took us roughly an hour. It was very peaceful though.

A beautiful scenery of a crispy cold day, with sun's rays bringing warmth embracing us in calm atmosphere, connecting us to nature ... highly recommend, even when it is cold, we left feeling happy and content. 😊🌻
