About High Ashes Haven
Head to High Ashes Haven for a sniff of history – this tiny Derbyshire farm dates back to 1640, and though the accommodation has moved on considerably since then, you'll still feel wonderfully close to nature as the farm's pet sheep wander by. The well-appointed units come with cosy beds, linen, towels and goose down duvets, plus a private bathroom with hot shower right next door. Cook in the fully equipped kitchen or fire up the wood-burning pizza oven, then gather round the firepit (logs supplied) for peak evening relaxation.
The hostelries of Ashover are just a 15-minute walk away, serving local ales and hearty dinners if you tire of self-catering. Film buffs might find the scenery familiar – this area doubled as the location for 2019's *Mary Queen of Scots*. With canoeing, climbing, cycling and horse riding all on the doorstep, there's plenty to fill your days before returning to this peaceful, spectacularly situated haven.

What visitors say
Had a fantastic first visit for the weekend with my wife and three young kids. Location is stunning, campsite was immaculate, very spacious and cosy. We loved every minute and have even booked to go back at the end of the month. It was my wife’s birthday weekend and Phil the owner, who’s is great guy, kindly arranged a home baked birthday cake on our arrival and put up birthday banners. Can’t wait to come back 5 stars all round.

We (Grandparents, daughter and 2 teenage grandkids) stayed in the converted barn - Florries Rest for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. The kitchen was amazing with all the equipment anyone could need. The BBQ was great and we had many of our meals outside under the umbrella. With 2 bathrooms it is ideal for extended family. With Chesterfield and Matlock short drives away there was plenty to do. Our daughter revelled in doing some gardening (not a requirement of guests!) The High Ashes Rural Project has been set up to provide people of all abilities with a wide range of training experiences. One downside for teenagers was a relatively slow internet. A great place from which to explore or just chill.

Amazing, It was so beautiful and the haven ball tent was just like home. It was so warm and comfy. Will be staying again. There were all of the facilities like toilets our own kitchen (with a fridge!) and even inside the tent there was a kettle, heater, table, beds and air beds. Most of all the host was so accommodating he gave us firewood, fresh eggs and milk and a warm welcome. He was also a great company. Lastly, it was very peaceful and calming and there were a lot of ball games to choose from.

We had the most magical 3 nights staying in the serenity yurt with our 5 and 6 year old. The staff are so lovely and helpful. You have everything you need on site so it makes it so easy to take kids away and still get back to nature. Thank you so much. We will be back! Tip… take a kite. It’s the best place for flying
