Compton Farm Cottages - The Plough Shed
Chichester
Photo: Google Maps
The Plough Shed began life as a farm building and retains the character of its rural origins. It sits within the grounds of a family farm in the Southdowns National Park, a short walk from Compton village. The conversion has created a single open-plan living space on the ground floor, with a wood burner at its heart, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a double bedroom with ensuite shower. One car can park on site, and there is an enclosed lawned garden with patio and seating.
Essentials are covered: electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included, along with logs for the burner. The kitchen has an oven, hob, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. A cot and highchair are available on request. One well-behaved dog is welcome. There is an unfenced duck pond opposite the drive entrance.
Chichester cathedral and its surrounding market town are 10 miles away, with harbour boat tours available. The South Downs Way lies 2 miles off. Within reasonable reach are Goodwood and Fontwell racecourses, polo at Cowdray, and Portsmouth for shopping. The village shop and tea room are 100 yards away, and a bridle path leads directly from the property into countryside walks.
