Singleton lies within the South Downs National Park, a village where the local surgery once occupied what is now The Old Surgery. Built in 1731 as part of Corner Cottage, one of the area's significant historic properties, this wing was fully restored by local craftsmen and now stands as a self-contained two-bedroom cottage. Original features remain alongside contemporary comforts, accessed through its own entrance with French doors opening to a patio and shared enclosed garden.
The ground floor contains an open-plan living space with a woodburner, 36-inch smart TV and DVD player, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer included. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a zip-and-link arrangement of two single beds, the other a double plus a day bed for flexible sleeping. The bathroom has both bath and separate cubicle shower. Wifi, electricity, bed linen, towels and initial logs for the woodburner are provided. The enclosed garden has furniture and a barbecue; parking is on the road adjacent to the entrance.
The property sleeps four and welcomes one dog, though the owners' Corgi prefers well-behaved females. A pub sits within a mile of the cottage. Children under 8 are not accommodated. The garden contains a well and small unfenced pond; note the step at the entrance. No smoking throughout.
