Inside South Downs National Park, this medium-sized pop-up site is a top spot for exploring the spectacularly scenic Sussex countryside. Ramblers, bikers and horseback riders can follow the bridleway from the site as far as the 100-mile-long South Downs Way, or pick up one of the many trails that crisscross the area. It's also brilliantly placed for the Goodwood Estate – less than 10 minutes away – so time your stay right and you might snag a trackside seat at the Goodwood Revival, Festival of Speed or Glorious Goodwood.
Back on site, relax in peace with nothing to disturb the quiet except bird calls. Fire up the barbecue or gather round the campfire as your eyes drift skyward – this is a dark sky reserve, so stargazing is an absolute must. When you fancy a bit of a treat, there are oodles of restaurants within 15 minutes.
