About Trents

Trents is a traditional inn at the heart of historic Chichester, close to South Street and the Market Cross, run as part of the Greene King Inns group. It offers straightforward en-suite bedrooms above a working pub and restaurant, aimed squarely at budget-conscious visitors who want a central location over extra facilities.

The ground floor operates as a pub and restaurant with a terrace, serving food and drink through the day and into the evening, and doubles as the reception and breakfast room for hotel guests. Rooms are simply furnished but functional, in keeping with the inn's positioning at the value end of Chichester's accommodation.

Its South Street address puts it within a few minutes' walk of the cathedral, the theatre and Pallant House Gallery, making it one of the most central options in the city for visitors prioritising location and price over boutique styling.

Had a great evening here last night singing karaoke and great food. We were visiting from Fareham so don't know the area. Alfie and the rest of the staff were great and very welcoming. We will be back. Thanks all. Matt and Row

A comfy friendly pub/hotel. Our room (5) was very clean and so warm, lots of space and storage - huge bonus was a big fridge too. An excellent bed - a good mattress which I slept blissfully on. We were right in the centre of Chichester near cafes, restaurants and lots of interesting independent shops. Breakfast was included too, so a good end to our stay. Definitely recommend

We had a great evening on Saturday 28th February 2026. The bar area was buzzing with a fabulous mixture of ages, all enjoying the karaoke. The MC of the karaoke was brilliant which reflected on the exuberance of the mixture of clientele of all ages. The bar service was excellent, prompt service by friendly, efficient bar staff. The karaoke is moving from a monthly slot to a fortnightly slot. Highly recommend.
