About The Old Vicarage Certificated Location
When a foray deep into Wiltshire countryside is called for, CAMC members would be advised to bed down at The Old Vicarage Certificated Location, tucked behind a historic house in the serene village of Chittoe. For nearly 40 years, the owners have welcomed touring types to a gently sloping field mown by vintage tractor, with views eastwards towards Roundway Down on the edge of Pewsey Vale.
From the camping meadow – where deer often appear – footpaths lead through open fields full of grazing sheep (with lambs in spring) and private woodland strewn with bluebells in April and May. Two pubs lie within half an hour's stroll if you like a purpose to your walk. All pitches have electric hook-ups, and a heated shower and loo are available; the owners ask that you please leave them spotless after use. It's a peaceful spot far from the madding crowd, yet only 15 minutes' drive from the shops and pubs of Devizes.

What visitors say
We had a lovely, relaxed stay here. The flexible arrival and departure times made everything stress-free. The site is surrounded by nature – we even spotted deer in the neighbouring field! There’s electric hook-up, fresh water, and disposal facilities, which made things very convenient. We loved the little touches like fresh eggs and local honey for sale at the entrance, and we were treated to some beautiful sunsets during our stay. The camping field is set back from the road, making it quiet and secluded.
