We visited today with our 3 year old. The chap (sorry didn’t get his name) who welcomed us was amazing. So accommodating and very knowledgeable. Made the visit! The museum is great, loved learning more about Bute (it’s our 2nd visit and we love it here) our boy loved the nature and animal section, especially the touch table. Really great museum, amazing value for money, super staff. Thank you for a wonderful visit.

Very nice place to visit. The volunteers are friendly and quite informative. We enjoyed the natural history side with all the taxidermy exhibits as well as the local history side. Definitely skip the expensive cruise ship walking excursion into town and visit the museum and next door castle on your own for a fraction of the price!

Super cute wee museum. They managed to get so much history into one room! Awesome job! Lovely front of house staff & gave us information on certain areas of interest around Bute itself. Very friendly! The other room has a tonne of stuffed animals, so it may not be suitable for all guests. Would love to visit Bute again. Recommend this museum!

Always fantastic to see and visit was a nice day lots to do and food to buy... if you want a day out just go and have fun good for kids animals and everyone goodfor wheelchairs and plenty of room everywhere take a packet lunch or buy from the cafe... always take a change of clothing it's Scotland so be prepared and of course the history is everywhere 😁😁😁
