What visitors say
My favourite campsite I’ve been coming here for 15 years. Not every year but regularly. The site is clean and today toilets are spotless and I’ve never had any issues here. Nice restaurants only a few minutes away and the pub next to the site does great food and is very friendly.

Just back from a long weekend the site was lovely, quiet, clean and spacious pitches. The shower/toilet block was spotless, showers were great, under floor heating and good music playing (people singing in the shower)Lisa and Steve the wardens were exceptional nothing was to much trouble. Will definitely be back

Last week of September - quiet but still a few people about. Turned up and called the warden who arrived quickly. Friendly welcome. Shown pitch. Be aware ground can be quite hard so make sure you have a hammer/mallet with your for tent pegs. Facilities - spotless but as said quiet so could not comment what it would be like peak season. The Dog and Pheasant is a short walk through the fields - standard pub food but good - you may need to book ahead. Also very good real ale and friendly staff. Beach with tidal mud flats a short walk off the back of site plus various walks around the island. No shops nearby. You need to drive about 12 minutes to West Mersea for shops - Coop has the best variety but there are a local butchers, Mersea Bakery - cakes, bread , bacon rolls, breakfasts, other cafes and a very good pizza place - Waterfront Pizza - you may need to book in busy times. Somebody in the pub had a curry delivered from the Titash to the car park so there is that option.

A great site, we booked 1 night but ended up staying 3. Plenty of space for walking the dog. All facilities spotlessly clean. Motorhome service point. Close to beach. Lovely walk across the beach to Cudmore grove country park with carpark, toilets and small cafe. lovely cup of tea and cake. When travelling to Mersea check tide times we ended up waiting for an hour for tide to go out to access the island.
