Great Orme

Photo: Moody_blue

Great Orme is a renovated first-floor apartment with an open-plan living and dining space that opens directly into the kitchen. A sofa bed sits in the living area alongside a smart TV; the kitchen has an electric oven, hob, microwave and fridge-freezer. Downstairs also contains a shower room with walk-in shower. Climb to the second floor and you reach the bedroom—a double bed in an ensuite with heated towel rail and walk-in shower. The whole place is yours alone, and one small dog is welcome to come along.

Llandudno spreads below in the Victorian style, with the great limestone headland that gives the apartment its name rising from the coastline nearby. The beach is roughly a mile away. The promenade is within walking distance, and the headland itself draws visitors who take the cable car to the summit for views, or simply walk the trails around it. The town has cafes, restaurants and pubs dotted throughout; a short drive takes you to Conwy Castle, the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Colwyn Bay, or into Snowdonia National Park. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking inside.

Fantastic views. God's marvelous design in the world which is marred with evil, disobedience to God and rebellion. Thanks for His handy work.

The Great Orme is a fantastic place to explore, with sweeping coastal views, dramatic cliffs and a real sense of space at the top. The walk or drive up is scenic, and once you reach the summit there are plenty of trails, viewpoints and quiet spots to enjoy the landscape. Wildlife is easy to spot, especially the goats, and the mix of sea views, open grassland and rugged rock formations makes it a brilliant place for photos. A great visit for walkers, families and anyone who enjoys wide, panoramic scenery.

If you're looking for a truly breathtaking natural wonder that combines stunning scenery with a rich sense of history, then the Great Orme in Llandudno is an absolute must-visit. From the moment you start your ascent, whether by the charming Victorian tramway, the exhilarating cable car, or even by car, you're treated to increasingly spectacular panoramic views that stretch for miles across the Irish Sea and the Welsh coastline. It's more than just a hill; it's an entire experience, offering a serene escape and a vibrant adventure all rolled into one. Once at the summit, the options for exploration are endless. You can wander along well-maintained paths, discover ancient copper mines that tell tales of a bygone era, or simply find a quiet spot to soak in the incredible vistas. The wildlife here is also a huge draw; spotting the wild Kashmiri goats grazing casually on the steep slopes is always a delight, and the birdlife is equally captivating for nature enthusiasts. The air is fresh and invigorating, and every turn reveals another picture-postcard scene, making it perfect for photographers and anyone who appreciates the raw beauty of nature. What makes the Great Orme truly special is how it caters to everyone. Families will love the safe, open spaces and the thrill of the tram ride, while hikers can tackle more challenging routes. Even if you just want to relax and enjoy a coffee with an unbeatable view, there are facilities available. It's a place that leaves a lasting impression, a genuine jewel in North Wales that offers a perfect blend of natural grandeur, fascinating history, and a peaceful yet exciting atmosphere. Seriously, don't miss it!

Great Orme is truly a place worth visiting. I think we’ve been there at least three times, in different seasons, and it remains just as impressive every single time. Whether it’s a sunny day, rainy weather, or even snowing, the beauty and atmosphere of this place never change. The views are absolutely breathtaking, the air feels incredibly fresh, and there is such a peaceful and unique charm all around. It’s the perfect place for long walks, relaxing moments, and beautiful family memories. There’s also a small but lovely museum, clean public toilets, a playground for children, a cosy café, and a cute little souvenir shop, which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable for families and visitors of all ages. Definitely one of our favourite places in Wales and somewhere we will happily return to again and again. ✨🏞️🌊
