Right on the Cornwall-Devon border and 15 minutes from the Tamar Bridge, this adults-only Caravan and Motorhome Club site occupies an acre of south-facing land with sweeping views across a 100-acre sheep farm. The closely mown grass pitches come with optional electric hook-ups, and the hardstanding ensures you won't get bogged down after rain.
Wander through the fields to discover four wildlife ponds, patches of woodland and plenty of native wildflowers – keep your eyes peeled for woodpeckers and kingfishers. Dogs are welcome to explore, though do keep them under control around the farm's livestock.
Traditional country pubs sit within a 10-minute drive, while Callington (five minutes away) has shops, supermarkets and takeaways that deliver right to your pitch. It's a peaceful spot with spectacular scenery, though with only a handful of pitches, booking ahead is essential.

Great CL with awesome views. Helen was very welcoming and came out to greet us despite the cold, miserable weather. We were the only occupants as it was very early in the season (early April) but we managed to encounter a sunny day where you could plainly see how beautiful this location is. As others have mentioned the walk through the forest area is enchanting. A lovely CL to base yourself for exploring this beautiful county.

Beautiful campsite, 5 vans only. Lovely location well looked after. Quiet, off road but easy access and about 5 minutes drive to a big Tesco. Not too far from lanhydroch, Cotele is 4 miles away, if you want to visit Plymouth but don’t want to park there drive to Cremyll car park and catch the ferry. Or part in Cawsand an old fishing village enjoy the boat ride across to Plymouth. At the other side directly when you get off is the Plymouth aquarium. We visit this campsite on a regular basis for the peace and tranquility. There are no toilets or showers but most people have their own. It’s definitely worth a visit.

We recently stayed (our second visit) at Ashdon farm, Amy tree, St Mellion Saltash CL. What a lovely site, it is very well kept with spacious pitches and electric hook ups. The owners Helen and Tim could not be more friendly and helpful. On the lower part of the site there is a very pretty series of ponds that were beautiful to stroll around. Within a short distance by car there is the Tamar valley, the coast and many towns and cities, both Bodmin moor and Dartmoor can also be visited. We will definitely be going again.

We loved our stay here, and were reluctant to leave - after two days the peace and tranquility were beginning to work a very special kind of magic. Simple, friendly - the best kind of CL!
