What visitors say
Honestly this site is a absolute gem, friendly staff, well maintained gardens, clean shower blocks, lovely setting and area with natural wildlife, we stayed in the crantock pod, and it was exactly what we needed with a fridge included. you can bbq as long as it doesn't touch the grass, a strict 10pm noise cut off which all guests adhered to made a peaceful night. My husband is a wheelchair user, and found the toilets absolutely fine. The 1 and only thing I would add is, communal cleaning spray to clean down the washing up area. The washing machines and tumble dryer worked well, as did the communal freezer and I loved the book swap.

Fantastic site – very quiet, clean, and well maintained. The grass had been neatly cut with all trimmings removed, which made a great first impression. The shower facilities were clean and tidy, and the toilets were also maintained to a high standard.

We stayed in one of the 3 onsite pods at Gwinear Camping and absolutely loved it. The pod was spotless, cosy, and perfect for a peaceful break. We brought our own camping stove and set it up on the deck for cups of tea and food. The site itself is beautifully maintained, full of wildlife and their little ones, and you can barely hear the main road thanks to the long drive leading down to the site. It feels wonderfully tucked away. There was a huge toilet/shower block which is very clean and well looked after. A laundrette, pot washing, dog washing facilities, and food waste bins. They have 2 beautiful fishing lakes with plenty of swims to fish from, and the fish are clearly very well looked after. Nellie’s Surf and Turf is a beautiful place to eat. We got takeaway and sat on our deck to eat. The food was beautiful! We will be back for the seafood boil! The lady on reception who I believe owns the site with her husband, was lovely. Both owners were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and informative. A really special place to stay.

Beautiful landscape with amazing views of the nearby lake. The toilet block is immaculate and they have plenty shower cubicles that are spacious with hot water. The campsite is exceptionally maintained and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Possibly the best campsite we have ever stayed in. Highly recommended. There is a beautiful walk round the back of the lake (Specimen Lake) and if you have a pet, there is a area for washing. There is also a restaurant which is highly reviewed and is open from wed-sun.
