Coastal camping and glamping by St Ives Bay, with a surfing school, cafe, shop, and yoga. Ten minutes to Godrevy!

About Sandy Acres Campsite

Sandy Acres sits just minutes from the dunes and surf of St Ives Bay, making it a proper coastal base for families and beach lovers. On site you'll find a surfing school if you fancy lessons, plus a cafe and shop for essentials, and even yoga sessions to stretch out after a day on the boards. The pitch types range from traditional camping to glamping options, and dogs are welcome throughout.

It's only ten minutes to Godrevy's dramatic headland and lighthouse, with Hayle's estuary walks and St Ives itself both close by. Facilities cover the basics—showers, toilets, drinking water—though there's no WiFi or chemical disposal point, so pack accordingly. A friendly, laid-back site that puts you right where Cornwall's best coastline happens.

Great, spacious campsite for nature and surf-lovers, tucked away in the dunes, minutes from the stunning beach and the absolutely awesome beach cafe under the same name. Showers are clean and hot. Bring your own powerbank and solar and just chill out. Lidl is 15 minutes away, just like the bus stop to st Ives and other rail connections. So, also a convenient campsite for backpackers and hikers.

Stayed at Sandy Acres last week. It was OK. I felt the toilets and showers should have been cleaned more regularly. The showers were also not very powerful not ideal for when you come out the sea. The toilets and showers were the only facilities, which is fine but felt they should have been cleaner. The shop at reception wasn't well stocked and you are not near any shops within walking distance. My children did surf school which they loved and the beach is stunning but it is a bit of a trek to and from the beach.

Great location, close to the beach. Amazing sunsets and long walks right up to St Ives. Staff are helpful and always happy to help. No electrical feeds, but there is a chest freezer in the main office for all to use and staff are happy to pop any battery packs on charge for phones etc (staff in between 10am and 8pm). Facilities are clean, showers are hot. Minus 2 stars: - showers are not very powerful; hard to wash off sand and salty water from your hair after day at the sea - the shop at reception wasn't well stocked and you are not near any shops within walking distance - the road leading to the campsite is horrendous - washing up area only with cold water Very basic campsite if that's what you are after :)
