Camellia Cottage

Camellia Cottage works well for families or groups of up to six looking for a proper base rather than a cramped stay. The three bedrooms—one kingsize, one double, one single—are spread across the first floor, while downstairs is a combined living and dining space with a kitchen that has everything needed for self-catering: electric oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and the rest. There's also a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Essentials like bed linen, towels, wifi and heating are included.

The cottage sits in St Mawes village itself, in an elevated position with views across the bay. The garden has sitting-out space and furniture; there's an enclosed patio too. Access involves a steep hill or around 28 steps with handrails down to the harbour and beaches—manageable, and the height gives you those views. A shingle beach is about five minutes' walk away. The village is compact enough that you won't need a car much; ferries run regularly from the harbour around the estuary. One dog is welcome. No smoking inside.
