Chapel Annex

The River Camel runs past this converted chapel between Bodmin and Wadebridge, a rural corner of Cornwall where the landscape combines river valley and woodland. Chapel Annex occupies a single storey of a 12th-century building, with its own entrance, parking, and walled garden. The location sits close to the Camel Trail, a walking and cycling route that follows the river valley, and the coast is within reach for a day out.

The accommodation is one bedroom and one bathroom. Downstairs there is a living room with a woodburner, smart TV, and access to the garden. The kitchen is separate, with electric cooking and a dishwasher. Upstairs the bedroom has a double bed and an ensuite shower room. The garden is mature and faces south, with mature trees, seating, a hammock and a barbecue. You can access the riverfront with its picnic benches. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the woodburner are provided to start with. A cot and highchair are available if needed. No smoking throughout.

The river here is home to otters, sea trout and salmon. The Camel Trail is on your doorstep, offering nine miles of off-road cycling and walking. The Borough Arms pub is within a mile. The site occupies medieval ground, though certain areas are cordoned off for safety.
