Creekside House at Mixtow Creek
Cornwall
Creekside House at Mixtow Creek opens into a generous hallway that sets the tone for the whole place: light, uncluttered, with room to spread out. The sitting room sits on one side with a wood burner and French doors that frame the river beyond; the kitchen and dining space on the other is equally bright, with its own access to the terrace. This layout means the household can gather easily for meals or splinter into quieter corners. Upstairs, four bedrooms offer genuine flexibility—two with king beds and ensuite bathrooms, two with twin beds and a shared family bathroom between them. The private terrace is the draw: it overlooks the water, and the shared pontoon directly in front opens up paddleboarding, kayaking, crabbing, or hiring a small boat locally.
The Fowey sits in one of Cornwall's most-walked corners, and the South West Coast Path runs within easy reach. Polruan and Fowey village are close for harbour walks and ferries; further afield lie Polperro, Looe, Charlestown, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. The house itself provides wifi and all essentials—electricity, bed linen, towels—so you can settle straight in. Off-road parking is available, and one pet is welcome. No smoking indoors.
