About Penhale Camping and Caravan Park
Set on a working organic farm just outside Fowey, Penhale Camping and Caravan Park offers a genuinely rural escape with long views across fields to St Austell Bay. The family-run site has a relaxed, unhurried atmosphere—grass pitches are well spaced, nights are genuinely quiet, and the owners are helpful and knowledgeable. Facilities include electric hook-ups, hardstanding for tourers, a dedicated tent area with its own amenities, and Wi-Fi. Dogs are welcome throughout, with a dedicated off-lead grass area, and there's a free book library at reception adding to the low-key charm.
Polkerris Beach is about a mile away for swimming or a pint at the beachside pub, while Fowey is easily reached on foot or by car. The Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan are both a short drive, making this a practical, well-placed base for exploring south Cornwall without paying harbourside hotel prices.

What visitors say
Stayed here for a week. Loved the pitch we had. They are good sized pitches with your own water tap. The views are fantastic and location good for getting around. You can walk into fowey, but it is a hard walk back up. The shower blocks could do with cleaning more often as people leave tissues and hair around the sinks. Not the owners fault. The flowers are a nice touch. The site could do with a shop selling basics and ice lollies and drinks a nd sweets etc. The reception are could look beautiful if updated and made more welcoming. Would stay here again though as really enjoyed our stay.

View is amazong in the statics, the statics are good but some attention to detail needs to be applied. More time with astrimmer would be a good idea, we had a bench but dodnt use it because the grass around it as tall as the seats and would tickle you if you sat down. Dog friendly, lovely walks in the area and just a short drive from Fowey.

Stayed here for 4 nights in our caravan. Showers 🚿 always clean and tidy. Our pitch had great sea views and were of a very good size. Would highly recommend.

No idea why this campsite gets such bad reviews. It is so well thought out. Free WiFi, level pitches (electric hook up) water tap on every pitch, stunning views, clean facilities and a huge dog walking field. It is on a working farm hence the call on arrival and if you channel into the bird song you will ignore the occasional slight road noise. This visit they seem to have improved the showers as well.
