Dartmoor 3

The Tamar Valley sits on Cornwall's border with Devon, close enough to Dartmoor National Park for day trips yet far enough into the countryside to feel properly away. Dartmoor 3 is a detached lodge within the grounds of Honicombe Manor Park, a 20-acre resort that gives you both a home base and access to shared facilities—indoor and outdoor pools (seasonal), a gym, tennis court and children's play area all included in your stay.

The lodge sleeps eight across four bedrooms: two doubles and two rooms with single beds each. Downstairs holds the living and dining space with a Smart TV, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, and a shower room. Upstairs are the remaining two bedrooms and a bathroom with a bath. The decked terrace is yours alone, furnished and fitted with a private hot tub. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are all provided, and a travel cot and highchair can be arranged if needed. The property takes two cars.

This works well for families wanting a mix of independence and communal activities, or for groups of friends. The nearby Tamar Valley is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty; Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and the south coast beaches are all within reach. No smoking inside the lodge.
