🏡 Self-Catering Cottage

Dayan Cottage

Fowey's working harbour and sandy beaches are within easy reach on foot from Dayan Cottage, a renovated stone property tucked into the heart of the village. The cottage occupies two floors of a traditional building, with its own separate entrance. Exposed stone walls and sash windows retain the character of the original structure, while the interior has been updated to modern standards throughout.

Downstairs holds two bedrooms: one with a double bed and ensuite shower, the other a single with a bathroom offering both bath and shower. Upstairs, an open-plan living space combines a sitting area with wood-burning stove and Smart TV, a dining section, and a kitchen equipped for everyday cooking—oven, hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer-dryer all present. Bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included. The property does not accept children under 7, and smoking is not permitted.

You are steps from the Safe Harbour Inn and Fowey's full range of shops, cafes and restaurants. Readymoney Cove's beach lies about 10 to 15 minutes' walk away. The location suits those who want to leave the car behind and explore on foot.

A beautifully restored cottage boasting more than a respectful nod to its history. Lovingly kitted out and to a very high standard. Only tiny comment would be an ice tray please as no freezer, and you can’t have a g & t without ice :) Also a little knob or sign on the drawer for pots and pans underneath the cooker would be helpful as it’s not clear it’s a drawer. A check in of 5pm is really rather late and eats into the holiday, as does a startling 9am checkout…! Really should be 2pm and 10am respectively. But we had a fabulous time and Dayan Cottage is the perfect little bolt hole right in the hub of all activities. Be warned tho, if you have a car, you need to park quite a steep way up in the Hanson Drive car park which is not a climb suitable for anyone with walking difficulties or the elderly. However, would highly recommend. 9/10. Thank you!
