A campsite near Fowey
About Prickly Post
Tucked a little inland from Fowey, this pop-up site delivers a proper back-to-basics escape with excellent walking access to Cornwall's coast. Prickly Post keeps things simple – think grassy pitches, a flushing loo, fresh water tap and resident ponies wandering the fields – but the location more than compensates. You can reach Fowey or Readymoney Cove on foot in 25 minutes, Polkerris beach in 40, with the Saints Way and South West Coast Path both close by for longer rambles. Evening barbecues and small firepits are welcome, supplies are five minutes' walk at the local garage, and a bus stop at the lane's end saves tired legs.
The simplicity won't suit everyone – facilities are genuinely minimal – but walkers, Duke of Edinburgh groups and anyone craving peace over polish tend to rate it highly. Fowey's watersports, the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan all lie within half an hour's drive if you fancy venturing further afield.

What visitors say
Stayed here for a week. Loved the pitch we had. They are good sized pitches with your own water tap. The views are fantastic and location good for getting around. You can walk into fowey, but it is a hard walk back up. The shower blocks could do with cleaning more often as people leave tissues and hair around the sinks. Not the owners fault. The flowers are a nice touch. The site could do with a shop selling basics and ice lollies and drinks a nd sweets etc. The reception are could look beautiful if updated and made more welcoming. Would stay here again though as really enjoyed our stay.

No idea why this campsite gets such bad reviews. It is so well thought out. Free WiFi, level pitches (electric hook up) water tap on every pitch, stunning views, clean facilities and a huge dog walking field. It is on a working farm hence the call on arrival and if you channel into the bird song you will ignore the occasional slight road noise. This visit they seem to have improved the showers as well.

View is amazong in the statics, the statics are good but some attention to detail needs to be applied. More time with astrimmer would be a good idea, we had a bench but dodnt use it because the grass around it as tall as the seats and would tickle you if you sat down. Dog friendly, lovely walks in the area and just a short drive from Fowey.

Great friendly site in a fantastic location within easy walking distance of the South West Coast Path. Pitches are huge, some hard standing, all with sea views. Off-road path to the nearest bus stop for regular access to Par, St.Austell and Fowey (the coast path walk to Fowey is amazing though). Great price when we stayed in low season!
