Flat 18 Pochin House
Cornwall
Flat 18 Pochin House sits on the first floor of a modern apartment complex in St Austell, where the industrial past still shapes the landscape—a surviving chimney from Lovering's Clay Dry stands within the grounds. The area's former dominance in china clay extraction left its mark architecturally and culturally, and several museums now interpret this heritage. The flat itself accommodates four guests across two bedrooms: one with twin beds and an ensuite shower, the other with a kingsize bed. A second bathroom with a bath and shower serves the rest of the property. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included, and one parking space comes with the booking.
The open-plan living and dining kitchen is the heart of the space, with angled windows capturing views and plenty of counter room for cooking. A separate utility room houses a washing machine and tumble dryer. The living room has enough seating for a group to spread out comfortably. One dog is welcome to stay.
Eden Project—the famous tropical gardens under biomes—sits within walking or easy driving distance, as does Wheal Martyn Clay Works Museum if you want to delve into what once made this part of Cornwall significant industrially. Beaches at Carlyon Bay, Duporth and Par, all with sand and coves, are also nearby. Smoking is not permitted inside the flat.
