Friesian Valley Cottages - Elm suits couples and families after a base for coastal exploring, or those who simply want a quiet Cornish break. The cottage has two bedrooms—one double and one with two singles—sharing a single bathroom with shower. Downstairs is an open-plan living and dining space with a kitchen where you can cook proper meals, not just reheat takeaways. Everything you need is included: electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels. There's a small patio with garden furniture if you want to sit outside.
On-site there's a games room with pool and darts (shared with other cottages), a large field for children to run around, and car parking right there. One pet stays free. The property sits in the rural hamlet of Mawla on the north coast, a short drive from the sandy beaches at Portreath and Porthtowan where you can arrange surf lessons. The Coast to Coast Mineral Tramway is just yards away for walking, and the National Trust coastal path is nearby. Falmouth, Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum are within reach for days out. The area draws walkers, cyclists, surfers and sailors—though if you'd rather do nothing at all, that works too. No smoking in the property.

We had a brilliant week staying in Elm cottage over half term. Lovely dog friendly cottage, spotlessly clean and very cosy. Well equipped kitchen, great games room and a very useful hosepipe and washing line for rinsing wetsuits! The location is very peaceful and makes a great base for exploring both the north and south coast of Cornwall from. Hosts were very welcoming and a couple of minor maintenance issues we reported were sorted the same day. Thank you for a lovely stay, we hope to return!

Fantastic location and beautifully decorated cottages, which are spotlessly clean. Nicky was so helpful and informative about the area, she also went out of her way to get us extra supplies. Would recommend for a relaxing stay.

We spent a week at Friesian Valley Cottages and loved every minute of it. The location is great, you are 5 mins from the A30 and also a short drive from Porthtowan and Portreath which are nice places to visit and take in their beaches and coastal walks. The cottages are recently refurbished, with everything you need, and they are dog friendly. The cottage was also extremely clean upon our arrival, spotless. The owners are lovely, very responsive to any queries etc, and we were very appreciative of the milk, tea and coffee, and biscuits that greeted our arrival after a long drive. In summary, this is a great place to base yourself and explore the surrounding area, there is loads to see and do, and we were really happy with our choice of cottage; the location, quality of the cottage, and cost all combined to make it a great holiday, so big thanks to Nicky and Fergus and keep up the great work, and we will be back!
