Fuchsia Cottage

Photo: Fuchsia Cottage

St Mawes is a working fishing village turned holiday destination, built steeply up from the River Fal. The narrow streets open onto beaches either side of the harbour, and the South West Coast Path runs through the area. Fuchsia Cottage sits in this setting as a traditional fisherman's cottage, updated with modern comforts but keeping its original character—beamed ceilings and stone fireplace in the living room, a bright kitchen-diner to the rear, and a bathroom with bath and shower on the ground floor. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a king bed, one with a single. The cottage sleeps three and comes with its own courtyard patio at the back, parking a short walk away, and one well-behaved pet stays free.

The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering: electric oven and hob, dishwasher, separate freezer in the utility room, and microwave. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. The stairs to the bedrooms are steep and may not suit those with mobility difficulties. St Mawes has restaurants, galleries, and independent shops within the village itself, with two beaches close by and the coastal path on the doorstep. No smoking inside the property.

Lovely refurbished fisherman's cottage. Clean and tidy. A welcome bottle of Prosecco. Personally, I found the bed and sofa comfortable. St Mawes is a lovely quaint fishing, friendly people. I would recommend a stay here.

Beautiful, cozy cottage. Very private and tucked away within a terraced row of pretty cottages. Yet, a minutes walk to the hub of St Mawes with all the shops and restaurants.

Wonderful stay at Fuchsia Cottage in St Mawes. A truly boutique fishermans cottage with luxury features, hotel quality bed linen and everything you need for a week for the beautiful St Mawes. A great place to unwind, walk on the beach, eat seafood, drink wine and relax in the quiet town. For more life we took the 20 minute Ferry to Falmouth which is a busy town with plenty of shops and dining options. Parking at the cottage is a real plus! Not many places to park in St Mawes apart from the chargable car park.
