Heather View

Heather View is a substantial Georgian property in Kingsand, a village on Cornwall's coast near Stanhope. The house sleeps 11 across six bedrooms and one bathroom, and you have the whole place to yourselves. Everything needed for a self-catering stay is supplied: electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. There is parking on site and an EV charging point if you need it.

The accommodation spreads across four floors. A spacious open-plan kitchen and dining area forms the heart of the home, with a five-metre table for group meals, and the kitchen itself is fully equipped for cooking. A garden room opens onto a private terrace with seating and a barbecue for outdoor eating. Elsewhere there is a double reception room with a balcony, and a separate games room. Bedrooms are a mix of king-size doubles and a children's room. The property overlooks the water and has a garden; no smoking is permitted inside.

This is the sort of place that works well for a family gathering or a large group wanting their own space on the coast. The Curious Grouse Restaurant & Bar is nearby in Stanhope if you fancy eating out.

Husband booked a 7 day break for us with 2 dogs and asked for caravan which is accessible. Caravan very basic, does have ramp to access but no area to sit outside and large shower room with chair. However chair is unsafe and only has one arm for disabled person to hold on to so difficult to transfer back to wheelchair. No disabled parking. Staff helpful and friendly. For money paid would expect a better standard of caravan.

Had a lovely weekend for Easter break. Comfort Caravan was spotless. We arrived 3am as we got late due to medical reasons. The security had left and the park was closed but they still went out of the way to help us check in. Lovely quiet spot for a rest and beautiful walks in the area. Visited Consett and Teesdale, low force waterfall, beautiful drives. Not much happening for kids though.

To whom it may concern. I would like to make a formal complaint. After not being able to spend much time as a family due to my work schedule, i was looking forward to being able to bring my family away to this caravan for a break. I originally booked the holiday via booking.com. I would like to add that no where on the website i booked through did it mention the complex was closed for refurbishment. I was contacted by the caravan site Heather View - 3 days before attending to make us aware that the entertainment was closed. I expressed how unhappy i was regarding this & found the staff very unhelpful & i felt gaslit as the member of staff was insisting it was on the booking website. When i asked where i could find this information , the employee was unable to tell me. I tripple checked & it was absolutley not on the site. I was given the option to cancel- however at such short notice i was worried if i done this i would be unable to find an alternative place due to the half term. Both sites (booking.com & the caravan site) were passing me off to each other to sort. I ended up keeping the booking for reasons as stated above. The check in time on the booking confirmation was 3pm. Upon arriving after this time , we were told that our accomodation was not ready & they were expecting us for 4pm?! Never once was this mentioned in my booking. We waited in the car until we were told it should be ready. We eventually got our keys & arrived to our caravan where the cleaners were still in there. They were apologetic & told us they were going to bring some clean towels over. This never happened. We were very unhappy to learn we had to pay for wifi, i called the site & complained & the employee said he was sorry for all that had happened & he would hand the complaint over to customer care to look at some form of compensation/ good will gesture. No one ever got back to me but by this point i am not shocked as no one has bothered to even try & sort this. Other issues i am not happy about is for example the kettle is thick of disgusting limescale so we have had to boil water in a pan. There was several dirty dishes in the cupboard. One bedroom you are unable to close the actual door because of the leg on the bed which is a massive fire saftey hazard. Also we have been woke up with the sound of banging / construction. Update i was offered a £10 by the kind staff at verdant leisure heather view caravan park. AVOID

Took my 2 very nervous dogs here for a week to escape fireworks where I live and the peacefulness was just amazing. Would highly recommend this holiday park. Surrounding area is beautiful and I found plenty of walks for to keep the dogs happy.
