Penjerrick

Built into a quiet hamlet on the River Fal, Penjerrick is a substantial cottage with its own parking and a private garden. The property holds two reception rooms downstairs—one with a woodburner, the other doubling as a television space—alongside a dining room and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking. Two bedrooms upstairs each come with their own ensuite bathroom and television; beds can be split into singles if needed. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all provided, and one dog is welcome. Smoking is not permitted inside.

From here, Truro's cathedral and shops are ten minutes' drive away. The coast lies within reach: Falmouth, St Mawes and the yachting centres at Mylor are accessible for a day out, while Newquay's beaches are roughly 16 miles north. Padstow sits about 20 miles away. On the doorstep, the upper Fal estuary offers riverside walks and a sense of being well away from busier parts of Cornwall, though not so remote that supplies or entertainment are hard to find.
