You arrive at Riverside Cottage to find an open-plan ground floor: a sitting area with a woodburner, a separate dining space, and a kitchen where you can actually cook. Upstairs is a single bedroom with a zip-and-link bed and a bathroom with both a slipper bath and a shower cubicle. The whole place is yours alone, and dogs are welcome.
The cottage stands on the Tregothnan Estate, right beside a stretch of tidal creek that shifts and changes through the day. A network of footpaths spreads out from here through this part of the Fal estuary—genuinely quiet walking country. Truro is a ten-minute drive away if you want shops, restaurants or the cinema, and the south coast is easily reached. The King Harry Ferry crosses the main channel to the Roseland Peninsula. Essentials like heating, electricity, Wi-Fi and bed linen are covered. The kitchen is fully equipped, so you can eat in or out. No smoking inside.
