The Harbour Cuddy
Cornwall
Photo: Google Maps
The Harbour Cuddy sits on the sand at Porthcothan Bay, where the South West Coast Path runs close by and the beach itself—soft sand, rock pools, gentle breaks—is steps away. For a group or extended family wanting to base themselves by the sea without fuss, the location does the work for you. The house itself has a straightforward appeal: five bedrooms across different configurations (doubles, bunks, singles), three bathrooms, and enough space that 14 people can spread out comfortably. A wood-burning fireplace, large windows framing the bay, and a kitchen arranged for communal cooking all suit the rhythm of a seaside holiday where everyone eats together after a day on the water.
Outside, the garden has seating and room for meals in the open air. Essentials like bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are included. One dog is welcome as part of the group, though not on the furniture or upstairs. Padstow and Newquay are close enough for a drive if you want to venture beyond the immediate stretch of coast—harbours, restaurants, other beaches—but most visitors find the bay itself absorbs the days. Non-smokers only.
