The Old Butchers

Families and groups of up to six will find The Old Butchers works well as a self-contained base. The house has three bedrooms—a double with ensuite, a kingsize, and two singles—plus a second bathroom, so there's room to spread out. Downstairs there's a living and dining room, a second sitting room with DVDs, and a kitchen equipped for proper cooking rather than heating ready meals. An enclosed courtyard with garden furniture and barbecue opens from the ground floor.

The location sits minutes from a wide sandy beach backed by dunes, with the River Gannel estuary nearby; it's good territory for birdwatchers. Newquay's beaches are three miles away, Watergate Bay five miles. A shop and pub are within walking distance. The property includes bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi; heating runs from November to April. Two cars can park on site. The house does not permit smoking. One well-behaved dog is welcome.
