The Old Mill

Photo: The Old Mill House

Padstow's countryside stretches inland towards villages and farmland where The Old Mill stands as a converted 15th-century property. The detached stone building sits on two floors with an enclosed rear garden and courtyard parking, positioned to take in views across surrounding fields. One dog is welcome at no extra cost.

Three bedrooms sleep six: a kingsize, a zip-and-link that converts to singles, and a double, served by two shower rooms with heated towel rails. Upstairs, the open-plan living space combines a sitting area with wood burner and Smart TV, a dining zone, and a kitchen equipped to cook proper meals—electric cooker, dishwasher, American fridge and breakfast bar included. Ground-floor facilities cover what you need to feel settled: wi-fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all there. A sofa bed offers flexible extra sleeping; a highchair and stairgate are on hand if needed.

The enclosed garden and private hot tub for six make this suitable for groups gathering together, whether family or friends. No smoking indoors. Check-in is after 4pm and checkout before 10am.

What a lovely stay we had here! We were looked after by a wonderful couple, they were just so lovely. We booked a garden view room and it was stunning. The room was very comfortable, the only criticisms are that it got very warm and fan would have been beneficial. I would have also liked vegetarian sausages listed on the breakfast pre-order menu, but the hosts did say they had them in if I would have liked them. I would highly recommend staying here, it was peaceful and relaxing.

We went to this amazing little gem . The food is better than Rick Steins without a doubt. A friendly welcome, excellent staff. Brilliant chefs. A cosy dinning room. Romantic as well. We will return. I can't recommend this highly enough. The homemade bread is of the scale. Fabulous.

If I could rate this a 10* I would. Firstly the service was fantastic, as a family run business it is so clear that they are passionate about making each persons stay special and consistently go the extra mile. The food we were served was impeccable, steak night was well worth the money, the intimate dining experience was so romantic and the hosts couldnt do enough for us. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of choice and Debbie always so helpful and friendly. The rooms were huge, beautifully presented and the beds were so comfortable. Outside was stunning, you can sit by the brook and listen to the birds, watch the stream and it was so peaceful. The bus to Padstow comes directly outside and takes 10 minuites, from Padstow theres many other buses to different places. We will definetly be going back, the staff service was above and beyond, it really made the difference to us. We felt so well looked after and valued. Thankyou so much!

Lovely place to stay. The hosts were perfect and very welcoming. Plenty of tea and coffee supplied in the room and fresh milk on arrival. Stayed for three nights and tried three different breakfasts, could not fault them. One of the best places we have stayed.
