The Stables

Couples and small families will find The Stables works well as a self-contained base. Two bedrooms, each with its own ensuite and a zip-and-link bed that splits into singles if needed, mean flexible sleeping arrangements. The ground floor opens into a living space with dining and kitchen areas; upstairs and downstairs layouts give the property an interesting split-level feel. One ensuite has a spa bath, the other a walk-in shower. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and a combi microwave. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included.

Outside, you have your own patio with garden furniture and a barbecue. The wider farm grounds are shared with other holiday properties but offer a children's play area and an indoor heated swimming pool (12m x 4m, open 8am to 8pm). A games room with snooker, table tennis and table football is also available to guests. There is an unfenced lake in the grounds, so this matters if you have very young children. Parking is private for two cars, and there is an electric car charging point.

Beaches near Bude—Summerleaze and Crooklets, both popular with surfers—lie within six miles. The Cornish coastline towards Hartland to the west offers dramatic cliff walks and coastal scenery. The property does not permit smoking.
