The Tallet
Cornwall
The Tallet is a converted stone barn on Mennabroom Farm, a working estate spread across Bodmin Moor's southern edge. Built in the 17th century and sympathetically restored, it retains the character of its original outbuildings while offering modern facilities inside. The property sleeps 6 across three bedrooms: a ground-floor king with patio access, a zip-and-link super king that can split into two singles, and a bunk room. Two bathrooms serve the building, one ensuite to the main bedroom and one on the first floor.
Downstairs, the living room has a woodburner (initial fuel included), Freeview television and DVD player, opening into a dining room. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking—electric oven, dishwasher, microwave and full-sized fridge. A utility room handles laundry. Bed linen, towels, wifi and electricity are all included; heating comes from oil central heating. One dog is welcome, though must remain on a lead in the working farmland. Parking for two cars sits on site.
The farm occupies 15 acres with woodland walks, river access and shared barbecue facilities. The 15 acres include ponds and a waterfall, and livestock roam the grounds. The cottage suits families seeking rural space without isolation—Bodmin Moor's attractions lie close by, and the property is child-friendly. No smoking inside. Arrive after 16:30, depart before 10:00.
