Turn a Penny
Cornwall
You arrive at Turn a Penny to find a compact cottage arranged over two floors, with the main living spaces downstairs. The ground floor holds a sitting room with a wood burner, a separate dining room, and a kitchen fitted for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, dishwasher, and coffee machine all there. Upstairs is a bedroom with a zip-and-link super king bed and a bathroom featuring a roll-top bath and separate shower. Electricity, wifi, bed linen and towels are included; logs for the wood burner are provided too. The cottage takes two guests and welcomes one pet.
The property sits among Cornish orchards with water views reaching into most rooms. A sheltered garden with seating and a barbecue (seasonal) opens from the house, and there is private parking for two cars. Truro is a ten-minute drive for shops, restaurants and a cinema. Newquay's beaches lie about sixteen miles north; Padstow, known for its food-focused restaurants, is just over twenty miles away. Falmouth and the other Fal estuary sailing villages are close by, and there is a watersports centre at Loe Beach. The Roseland Area of Outstanding Beauty, with its coastal walking routes, is accessible via the King Harry Ferry. A beach is nine miles away. No smoking indoors.
