About Britannia Coventry Hill Hotel

Rye Hill sits on the outskirts of Coventry, with the surrounding countryside offering golf and fishing within easy reach, and the Britannia Coventry Hill Hotel makes use of that position with its own grounds and free on-site parking. It's a sizeable, straightforward hotel across eight floors, built more for practicality than polish, with 192 rooms including family and accessible options, all en-suite and with room service and drinks available.

Guests get free Wi-Fi throughout, a restaurant and a separate cafe/bar for meals and drinks, plus breakfast service and meeting rooms for those travelling on business. A lift serves all floors, and pets are welcome, which suits guests travelling with dogs or those staying longer term.

Beyond the hotel there are pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby, alongside the golf and fishing options in the surrounding area. It's an unpretentious base for exploring Coventry, though it's fair to say the experience is more functional than characterful, with an emphasis on convenience over comfort.

Does not look so white in reality, the hotel seems a bit tired in the communal areas and was very quiet. Breakfast looked like it came in boxes but I might be wrong, we ate elsewhere. On the positive side that meant we slept well!! Comfortable beds and clean rooms with recently refurbished bathrooms. Bedroom had a double and a single in it so for £62.00 if 3 people staying its good value. But with no usb ports, remember to bring your chargers.

As others have posted, the hotel is a bit tired and dated, some of the fixtures and fittings are loose on walls, the main table had a very wobbly time when items were placed on it. Not a great mobile signal here, that's not the hotels fault but no WiFi available as an alternative. Bed was comfy, could have done with another pillow, and no sign of the promised "pants press" in our room. Overall not bad, could be better in places but not the worst in the world

The hotel is cheap, the rooms are clean and a good size. As others have mentioned the place is dated, the decor hasn't been changed since the 90's it seems. However, it's real failure during my time, was the staff and the breakfast, both of which were poor. Breakfast was charged at the rate of good hotels but I was offered a very limited choice that was poorly presented and messy. The staff were not particularly unfriendly, but didn't seem bothered and weren't welcoming. If used the hotel again I'd only use the room, so I could just sleep and leave, anything else just isn't worth it.
