About DoubleTree by Hilton Coventry Building Society Arena
If your trip in Coventry revolves around a fixture, gig or conference at the Coventry Building Society Arena, the DoubleTree by Hilton is built for exactly that kind of stay. It stands beside the arena itself, with the railway station and other event venues within easy walking distance, so you can leave the car behind once you've checked in.
The 121 rooms are on the spacious side, with comfortable beds and, in many cases, views straight over the stadium, plus air conditioning and en-suite bathrooms as standard. Family rooms and accessible rooms are available, and the arrival cookie is a nice touch. Breakfast gets particular praise, with a generous spread of hot and cold choices, and there's a restaurant and bar on-site for the rest of the day, along with a gym, meeting rooms and business facilities for those on work trips. A wedding venue and bridal suite cater to bigger occasions too.
Staff are consistently described as friendly and professional, which helps on busy event days when the hotel is at its fullest. On-site parking is available but charges apply, and it's worth noting some guests have found it can get stretched at peak times, so plan ahead if you're driving in for a match or show.
What guests say
2 night stay Saturday and Sunday and subjected to 6 hours non stop drumming from a wedding directly above us (2nd floor) on the Saturday to which the hotel offered no opinion or solution. Room was quite nice but the duvet cover had a number of mystery lumps which felt like tissues that had been washed and dried in, which was a bit disconcerting. Toilet seat was a few inches too small for the toilet bowl. Room doors in my vicinity (including mine) seemed to be a bit warped so needed a good slam to close properly which also doesn’t help with relaxation. Breakfast was way below par. The staff worked quite hard but some of the items were inedible - sausages looked very very close to raw and the bacon was so pale so we didn’t risk it either. Worth noting that any room is a long walk from the elevators which I normally prefer but it’s really a distance. And after coming back from a day out where we walked 10km the key had been deactivated (not accidentally demagnetised). It was a nice touch that the receptionist/night manager walked with us to the room to ensure we’d actually be able to enter the room at the second attempt but an unnecessary inconvenience when we’d been on our feet for 12 hours plus. Also although there are staff only lifts, you frequently have to compete with staff using the main lift, so it can be a squeeze. Despite paying good money for putting up with this experience, when we look for a bit of reciprocity and ask for a late check out, it’s flatly denied without even consideration. 60 minutes wouldn’t have hurt anybody (since it’s impossible to clean every room at the same time, even if the hotel was full. We’ve been Diamond members for a decade but recent experience suggests Hilton no longer understand what hospitality means. Here we were treated as an inconvenience.

We stayed for two nights. The first night was fine, but on the second night (20 June) there was very loud music coming from the property or nearby area. We returned to the hotel in the evening hoping to get some rest, but the music was still going strong. It was already 11:15 pm and the noise continued, making it difficult to relax and sleep. A good night’s sleep is one of the most important reasons for booking accommodation, so this was very disappointing and significantly affected our stay.

Great Hotel for short stay. I had a couple of issues (one of my own doing). Mark and his team were outstanding in resolving. Well done and thank you.

Really impressed with the Hilton, my room was huge and had everything I needed including tea amd coffee although £2.50 for 2 bottles of water seemed a bit steep. 5 of u had dinner in the restaurant, all the food was nicely prepared I can recomemd the ceaser salad with chicken a really good size portion Would have been better if all the meals were delivered at the same time although we all got a free drink for the inconvenience.
