Buttercup

Buttercup is a spacious listed house in Longtown designed to accommodate large groups comfortably. Seven bedrooms and five bathrooms serve up to 13 guests, with enough reception rooms that people can spread across the property without feeling cramped. Wood-burning stoves and open fires warm the rooms through cooler months, while wifi and electricity are included as standard. Bed linen and towels are provided, and one pet stays free of charge.

The extensive gardens give the property its particular character. Lawned grounds offer space for outdoor games—badminton, boules, croquet—and a gas BBQ is available for group meals. The rural location puts you roughly an hour from Ullswater and the Solway Coast, with the Scottish Borders and Carlisle also within reach for exploring. A pub sits within a mile. The house works for families gathering together, groups of friends, or anyone wanting room to move around. Smoking is not permitted indoors.
