Meadows View Shepherd’s hut
Cumberland
Rolling farmland surrounds Meadows View, a converted shepherd's hut two miles from Cockermouth in the quieter western reaches of Cumberland. The hut sits next to working farm buildings, with open fields visible across the garden. Cockermouth itself is a market town with independent shops, pubs and restaurants; the Lake District and Cumbrian coast are both within reach for day trips.
Inside is a single bedroom with a double bed, plus a sofa bed that converts the open-plan living area into a second sleeping space—the hut sleeps four overall. The kitchen is fitted for self-catering with an electric hob, microwave and air fryer. A shower room serves the property. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included. One dog is welcome. The hut is entirely on the ground floor, though there are steps at the entrance and into the garden.
Outside, a private hot tub (available by prior arrangement with the owner) overlooks the fields. You have a front garden with seating and barbecue, plus parking for two cars. No smoking inside.
